FDCH Annual Sponsor Training 2020 (WVDE-111)

This course is designed for returning Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) sponsors of Family Day Care Homes (FDCH). This course will review the regulations and procedures of the CACFP, and assist FDCH sponsors with regulatory compliance.

This course focuses on specific requirements for infants. Topics include creditable infant meals, infant meal components, serving sizes, and recordkeeping requirements.

VCA and Internal Controls: Evaluating Compliance with the Performance Standards 2022 (WVDE-131)

To protect the integrity of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), 7 CFR 226, the CACFP Regulations, require the state agency to develop factors for all new and participating institutions to determine their compliance with the Performance Standards, also called VCA: Viability, Capability, and Accountability. VCA and Internal Controls: Evaluating Compliance with the Performance Standards assists institutions in making this determination by providing guidelines for institutions to identify the documentation necessary to demonstrate their on-going compliance. The course will also discuss ways for institutions to adopt internal controls that will allow them to maintain and improve VCA.

School Nutrition Programs Annual Training 2023 (WVDE-310)

The School Nutrition Program (SNP) Annual Training is a comprehensive online course designed to provide annual required training for school nutrition program employees. This training includes important topics such as civil rights, meal pattern requirements, recordkeeping, financial management/maintaining a nonprofit food service, procurement, the Administrative Review, food safety, an overview of determining eligibility and the verification process, and meal counting and claiming procedures. Information on wellness policies, competitive foods, and professional standards will also be discussed.

Eligibility for Free and Reduced-Price Meals in School Meal Programs 2023 (WVDE-320)

This course provides practical information for local agencies responsible for administering the School Meal Programs. This course includes: guidance on determining eligibility for free and reduced price meals through direct certification and the eligibility application process, protecting student privacy, and the Administrative Review process. CEP will be defined along with eligibility requirements.

Verification of Eligibility For Free and Reduced Meals in School Meal Programs 2023 (WVDE-322)

This course provides a comprehensive review of verification including the different verification sampling methods, acceptable documentation, post verification activities, completing the verification questionnaire and recordkeeping requirements.

Meal Counting and Claiming for School Meal Programs 2023 (WVDE-321)

All School Food Authorities (SFAs) must maintain an accurate count of reimbursable meals by benefit category at the point of service. Submitting a claim for reimbursement requires detailed recordkeeping and preparation prior to claim submission. This course will provide SFAs with an overview of the requirements related to point of service meal counts, the edit check process, claim consolidation, and claim submission. Requirements and best practices related to unpaid meal charges will also be discussed.

CACFP Performance Standards 2023 (WVDE-130)

CACFP regulations require that all new and participating CACFP institutions meet and maintain compliance with the three Performance Standards; Financial Management and Viability, Administrative Capability, and Program Accountability. This course is designed to guide CACFP institutions to better understand the importance of the Performance Standards, the reason that they were developed, and the criteria used to determine compliance.

Maintaining a Non-Profit Food Service Program 2023 (WVDE-132)

All CACFP sponsors must maintain a nonprofit food service program. This course includes two lessons that cover the evaluation of program revenue and expenses, financial recordkeeping and controls, and expectations with operating a nonprofit CACFP.

This course is designed for returning Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) sponsor staff. This course will review the regulations and procedures of the CACFP, and assist sponsors with regulatory compliance.

CACFP New Sponsor Training 2023 (WVDE-120)

The CACFP New Sponsor Training is designed to provide initial training for those who are new to the CACFP or for participating sponsors with new staff. The training includes important topics such as Civil Rights, Meal Service Planning, Recordkeeping, Financial Management, Documentation, and Responsibilities, Maintaining a Nonprofit Food Service Program and Program Oversight.

Civil Rights Training 2023 (WVDE-150)

Program institutions and facilities receiving federal financial assistance are required to comply with federal civil rights laws to ensure all Child Nutrition participants have equal access to all benefits and services. This course will review Civil Rights regulations, and provide all information necessary to ensure that your program is in compliance with these requirements.

Planning and Administering the SFSP 2024 (WVDE-178)

This course is designed for new and returning Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) sponsor staff, and will review the regulations and procedures of the SFSP.
